Background

A swing-loving group of people who formed a club which needed to exist.

The MSU SwingCats have been teaching lessons and bringing swing dance to Montana State University since 2006. With the dedication and hard work of two very enthusiastic teachers, the Swing Cats swing club was formed. Originally, a very small group of individuals, our club has grown significantly. Although people have come and gone, teachers have changed, and semesters have dissappeared, our club has remained an active, energetic, and fun-loving place to learn and enjoy the art of swing dance.

Located at Montana State University in Bozeman, MT, our club enjoys the scenic views of the surrounding mountains on a daily basis. We can't think of a more perfect place to have a swing club.

Lessons

Everyone should know how to swing dance. We really believe that.

We focus our teaching efforts mainly on the Lindy Hop and West Coast dances, but offer other lessons throughout the year to keep things interesting and give everyone a chance to experience something new. Our lessons include something for everyone, so even if you've never danced before in your life, you'll feel right at home.

We offer all of our lessons free of charge. Yep, 100% free, no strings attached, come-and-try-with-no-hassle type of FREE. We believe that people shouldn't have to pay to learn what we have come to love and enjoy. Sure, we're always open to donations, and very thankful for those of you who have donated, but we're not about the money. We're about the SWING!

Leadership

People who keep things moving along. Don't worry, we make sure they stay in line.
